drivers experience an annual delay of 12,510,000 hours in congested traffic?
The extra time also means extra gas consumption, reportedly 20,000,000 extra
gallons. The estimated cost of this congestion totals $235,000,000
(according to the "The 2002 Urban Mobility Report" by the Texas
Transportation Institute). By ridesharing even twice a week, commuters can
save money, time and help reduce the congestion on our area roadways.
Did you know that according to Census Bureau records, over 44% of our
region's employees who work outside the home, travel more than 20 minutes
to
their workplace? Beaver County had the highest percentage of commuters in
this group—59%!!
